As most of the world knows, Neil and I are gonna have a baby sometime in August 2018. Now that we’ve reached the halfway point, it’s time to reflect on the time that has past and answer some questions people have been wondering.
How/when did you find out?
We found out we were preggo the week after Thanksgiving, and two weeks after my twin sister found out she was pregnant.

Did you plan to get pregnant with your twin?
Yes and no. We’ve always wanted to raise our kids together. So when we started trying, we let Ali and Joe know. Turns out, they beat us to the punch.
How are you feeling?
Fine, thanks.
Do you know what you are having?
We do not know the gender of Bean as of yet. We hope to find out in April.
Do you want a boy or a girl?
We want a healthy baby – boy or girl. Plus, there are pros and cons to both genders. But girl names are definitely more fun to come up with.
Are you taking a Baby Moon?
We went on a joint Baby Moon with my twin and her husband in February to Los Angeles. We had a lot of fun and had boba tea every day so we could try all the different tea houses. We went to a Late Late Show with James Cordon taping, explored the greater LA area, visited my cousin, and generally hung out. It was lovely!
Do you have any weird cravings?
Not really. I just have given myself permission to eat more stuff that I would usually pace myself on, like pizza and Chick-Fil-A. However, I have been craving more savory things than sweet things. Except for homemade Rice Crispie treats.

Is Neil excited?
Yes, he is very excited. He talks to Bean a lot and keeps asking Bean to tell us what gender it is.
How is the pregnancy going?
Great! Thanks for asking. We’ve been blessed with a drama-free pregnancy. However, since Neil was born with a heart defect, we did have to do a special fetal echocardiogram to check for issues. Thankfully, Bean has no major heart concerns.

Can you touch my stomach?
Preferably not. But I might take a bribe.
Are you going to buy a house?
We’ve looked into it, but right now we feel it is wise to stay where we are. We want to stay in Houston (no suburbs for us) so we can stay close to the community we helped plant a church in. Instead, we will be turning the guest room in our little duplex rental into a baby room.
Where are the baby bump photos?
I don’t post a lot of photos of myself in general and personally, baby bump photos kinda freak me out. BUT – here is one from our church’s women’s retreat:
Have you felt Bean move?
Yes. And it’s fascinating.
What’s next?
Our next appointment is April 11 and we are hoping to find out the gender then. If we do, we’ll be sure to let all you lovely people know (after we let our family know, of course). We’ve narrowed down to one boy and girl name. So if we feel like it, we’ll announce that as well.
I’m so excited for y’all. The next generation of campers is on its way! God bless you.

Congratulations! I think you sound as though you are having a boy… I only say that because I have one girl already and pregnant with my second and I just found out it’s a Boy! Pregnancy has been so different and much easier than my first. I’m due the end of July so just a little ahead of you! 😊 Exciting!!
